3gs question

Just got an iphone 3gs version 3.1.2 baseband 5.11.07 and old bootrom iboot IBOOT-359.3 however it is JB but not unlock i unlock it using hXXp ://repo666.ultrasn0w.com

how do i know what software use to JB the 3gs ie spirit - jailbreakme etc...

need the information to update 4.1 and JB and Unlock

you can tell if it was done by jailbreakme.com from the bootup screen. It will have strange lines of pixels on boot up if done with jailbreakme.

Thanks i turn off the iphone 3gs and then turn it on the only picture of the boot screen in the apple logo then go to slide to unlock

You can try to load a custom firmware then. Use the new sn0wbreeze to make a custom 4.1 and try to shift-click restore to it. If you get no error and it works then you were jailbroken with blackra1n. If you get an error 16XX then you were probably jailbroken with spirit. In that case google spirit2pwn, that will allow you to install a custom firmware if jailbroken by spirit.

i just ask the owner he said that he had a problem with software so he downloaded the iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Custom_Restore which already build in the JB hope that will help

If he used a custom firmware then you should be fine to make a custom 4.1 and restore to that.

iPhone 3GS new bootrom (Must be previously jailbroken on 3.1.2)

iPhone 3GS old bootrom (Must be already jailbroken. If you are jailbroken using Spirit or JailbreakMe, install Spirit2Pwn from iWOOWIZ Repo.

now when i load the sn0wbreeze-V2.0.1 what should i select at the warning screen

and should go and install install Spirit2Pwn

You dont need spirit2pwn. Just make the custom 4.1 firmware with sn0wbreeze then shift-click restore to it.

x98var i just want to thank you so much for your time, ok i am ready to install the 4.1 however i am stil worry something will go wrong having said that would you know if i use the custom 4.1 firmware with sn0wbreeze to install 4.1 will my moderm firmware and iboot will remain the same i just want to make sure i will be to unlock it after - unlocking is more important then jb for me thanks

You should be fine with the custom firmware. They do not update your baseband. Just stay away from the stock 4.1 and you will be alright.
You may want to do some research on the compatibility of ultrasn0w on 4.1 first.

I just did a quick search and have seen a few guides saying ultrasn0w works just fine on 4.1 custom so you should be good to go.
