Jailbreaking my 3.0.1

I would like to know if I should jailbreak my 3.0.1 version of the iPhone before I unlock it. Reason for the unlock is to obtain service from US to Europe.

You have to JB before an unlock. Redsn0w 0.7/0.8 should do it on 3.0.1.

Hi, in regards to the site that you provided...is it safe...will i have any issues with my iPhone freezing up? I'm new to this type of stuff....but very interested.

My iPhone is a 3G, 3.0.1 version, 8G, Model MB048LL

Should I just go on-line and down load the application to my phone, then unlock it? What site do you feel is safe for unlocking my phone?
