2G iPhone 1.1.1 want to upgrade..need help

Hi!

I have a 2G iPhone with 1.1.1 version on it (firmware 4.01.13) and I want to upgrade it .. to it looks like 3.1.2 is the one to go to now?

The thing is, I unlocked this many years ago now on a Windows PC and don't remember what I used/how I did it and now I'm using a Mac and am not really sure where to start. My iTunes is 9.2.1 version.

I see a lot of tutorials and what not out there and am just not sure where to start. Any feedback would be appreciated.
