Help please?

Hey, ive followed many guides, and still cant get it to work, So can someone please help?

I have an Iphone 3GS 32GB, on 3.13 .
When the SIM is inserted it says its not Supported on Itunes.
I thought that it may be locked to a specific network, called apple, and its not. Also, its Unactivated.
So, whats the steps to Unlocking it etc?

Well you can use blackweather to jailbreak and activate it. If it runs through the jailbreak and you end up back at the recovery mode screen then just run blackra1n AGAIN to kick it out. This means you have the new bootROM model. After it's jailbroken you can download ultrasn0w from Cydia to unlock it.

If the phone has never been jailbroken before then you'll be stuck at 3.1.3 as Apple will not allow you to restore to anything except 4.1 at the moment which is not jailbroken or unlocked.

Hey, thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
The phone has never been activated or jailbroken, i ran Blackra1n, and it put it into recovery...The only option is restore on itunes, which updates to 4.1 im assuming, which i have NOT done.
Will 'blackweather' work with hacktivation etc? Can you post here for me, and many others a simple guide on doing everything?

Do you know if it's old or new bootrom? Sn0ebreeze will do everything you need if you are on old bootrom.

I have a iPhone 3g running on 3.1.3 that I jailbroke about 5-6 months ago. I've never had a problem with cydia before a couple of days ago. I haven't downloaded any new packages recentlly and I have tryed to reset by holding down the hold and home buttons until the apple screen pops up. But no matter what I've tryed cydia won't load. Whent I tap on cydia's icon the screen goes black for a second and the normal cydia home page gets to the point where it says loading. But then it just returns me to my springboard. Can anyone help? I would be extremly greatful for any suggestions. Thanks.

You can update to 4.1 and jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.6 or sn0wbreeze 2 (if you need unlock)

Can I update to 4.0.1 through iTunes? Or will it make me update to the most recent which is 4.0.2 I think

Simply create a custom 4.1 firmware in sn0wbreeze 2 and restore to the custom firmware in iTunes. 4.0/4.0.1 is WAY to slow on 3G, 4.0.2 in not jailbreakable

Its new i think. Not 100%. But pretty sure.

Too bad, sn0wbreeze only works on old bootrom in you already jailbroken with a bootrom explot (kinda specific, lol)

I dont know anything about jailbreaking etc lol, thats why im asking the steps here.

I used spirit to jailbreak on 3.1.3 firmware. I have never used snow0breeze. Also, when you wrote that 4.0 and 4.0.1 are way too slow on 3g, were you suggesting that I don't update to either of them? Should I get a 3gs or 4? Why are those firmwares so slow on 3g?

The 4.1 updates is said to fix the speed issues on the 3G. The first jailbreak for 4.1 has been released limera1n but you might wanna wait till tomorrow.
