Okay guys so here's my dilema: I own an iphone 2g and I'm with TMOBILE. I was running 3.1.2 & saw on youtube how to upgrade to 3.1.3 and so i did it. thing is that my camera didnt work and i lost mms capabilities. Not really computer savy but i got tired of paying someone to upgrade my iphone you know? And so I thought if i downgraded back to 3.1.2 I could get my mms and camera back. thing is now my phone is in recovery mode!!!
I can still make/receive calls and receive texts but i cant text back.
I believe i used redsnow. And when itunes pops up it says my sim card is not recognized or something like that.
ALL I WANT IS TO GO BACK TO 3.1.2 til I can get the iphone4.
ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE? AND PLEASE BE SPECIFIC ABOUT THE STEPS I NEED TO TAKE.

There is absolutely no diff between 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. I would do a clean restore to 3.1.3 and then use redsn0w jailbreak. Once you do that set the phone up as new in iTunes and test your camera. Assuming that works you'll have do a search for enable MMS 2G and follow those instructions. The package is hosted on a pirate source so I can't give it to you.

Just restore the iPhone like normal back to 3.1.3. Then jailbreak it with either Spirit or jailbreakme.com. Anything you have to do in order to get the MMS and Camera working on 3.1.3 you have to do on 3.1.2 so there is no need to worry about getting back to 3.1.2.

Unfortunately, I do not know much about getting things set up for using it on T-Mobile but there are plenty of members that can help you on that front.

If he's Not on a valid carrier then neither of those are going to help bc they don't hactivate the phone. Your only options are redsn0w.. Sn0wbreeze or pwnage tool.

thanks guys. i'm gonna go to iclarified. a member here has a tutorial and I'm gonna see what's what. should i re-install itunes to make sure it recognizes my iphone???

1) Restore to 3.1.3
2) jailbreak, and hacktivate with redsn0w 0.9.4
3) unlock with ultrasn0w (repo666.ultrasn0w.com)

Edit: to use redsn0w you will also need to point it to a 3.1.2 firmware, and have your device on 3.1.3

I'd restore back to 3.1.2. The MMS issue is easier to fix than on 3.1.3. I'm sure 3.1.3 on a 2G has an MMS enabler/fix but I know for sure 3.1.2 it won't be a problem.
