Smile Upgrading from 3.1.3 Jailbroken to 4.?

    Hi all,
I need your help. I am running 3.1.3 Jailbroken on my 3GS iPhone with a lot of customisations from standard. My SHSH is saved on Cydia and I am wondering if I should upgrade to the latest 4.? version. If I do is there a way to upgrade without breaking my current Jailbreak and without losing all the months work i have spent building my own themes? Since i already have Catergories and Backgrounding is there any real advantage of upgrading yet? My wife runs a 3GS on 4.? (what ever is the latest software) and it is a lot slower than my phone. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
    Rustynut.

If you do a restore, you are going to lose your own built themes. There are some cool features on iOS 4, it is all up to you. If the themes are from Cydia, then you can restore back from pkbackup.

Use RockApp to back up your jb stuff. Tho note that some Jb apps don't work on iOS 4.

As for your custom themes, back them up on your computer so that when you reJB you can just stick them back in to the themes folder. However, your 3.1.x themes won't work right with iOS 4 so there will be adjustments to be made to the themes (renaming the files).

You can back up your custom themes. Find them in /var/stash/themes

    Thanks for the replies.
I have a copy on my mac of all my custom and downloaded themes from Cydia / Rock, however i was looking for an easier JB (upgrade) to 4.0. looks like i will have to redo everything over again including re downloading all the custom apps like Talert, Six icon dock, Blanknull, SBSettings and the like. Many more late nights coming i guess.

Do you honestly beleive that the current iOS4 is worth the download for the 3GS or do I wait for my iPhone 4 and JB that one and redo it all?

    Thanks

Maybe you should wait till 4.1 jailbreak is out.

    Thanks yeow202,

I downloaded pkgbackup and saved all my apps (108 in total) plus layouts. I will wait for 4.1 and upgrade my wifes phone first to test drive and then do mine if i like it. Or I might wait for my iPhone 4 (xmas) and JB that one.
