Nope, not proven for iPhone 4 but only 3gs

It is proven. All you need is the shsh files for your phone from 4.01. If you don't have them now then it's too late and it cannot be done ever.

That is not what I meant, I meant the magical blogs if you did not save your shsh blogs. Quite a number of 3Gs users can downgrade without saving their shsh blogs, don't know how their shsh blogs got onto Cydia server.
