Jailbreaking 4.1 8b117 firmware 3gs

hi could someone please tell me weather the 4.1 (8b117) firmware is jailbreakable on iphone 3gs I have seen in places something to the effect that it has been done already but i cant find the correct software i have tried snowbreeze 1.8 beta but it does not recognize my 4.1 (8b117) it says this version of snowbreeze (1.8beta) is for 4.1 (8b5080c) could someone also please tell me the difference between 4.1 (8b117)and 4.1 (8b5080c) firmware and is one newer than the other there seems to be alot of conflicting imformation about thanks!

No official jailbreak has been released yet for 4.1. There is a modified pwnage tool floating around that can do the job on a old bootrom 3GS but I would recommend waiting for the official one to be updated. 8B117 is the final release, that other one is probably one of the betas that came out.

Just fyi even if they Jailbreak it they haven't updated ultrasn0w for the new baseband so you won't be able to unlock the phone if you need to unlock.

Hopefully the unlock will be released at the same time as the jailbreak.

If they release a updated pwnage tool then the baseband can be preserved during the update so the current ultrasn0w will still work on 4.1.

does anyone know what time fame it is likely to be released judging by the previous releases couple of week months or years i know no one know for certain but just ideas would be usefull

my phone accepts any sim card i guess it means its already unlocked will any jailbreak i do lock it to a certain provider agan

They haven't given any indication as to when (or even if) they are releasing an updated pwnage tool, but I am sure it will be soon.

if past releases are any indication it will be anywhere from a week to a month from the firmware releases (but thats purely speculation on my part)

i had the same phone yesterday with your specs: I had it unlocked within a few steps. Follow the steps in this thread:
