    Default 3GS jailbreak failure jailbreakme.com

I tried to jailbreak my friends 3GS 4.0.1 and it failed halfway through leaving the iPhone unable to boot and getting stuck in the apple logo screen. I restored it into dfu mode and just restored it to 4.0.2 but she says that the iPhone is really buggy now. It lags much more than it used to and just overall slower.

Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

I'll get more info and update this post as needed

If it's on 4.0.2 then it's no longer jailbreakable and there is no harm in upgrading to 4.1. That should help with some of the performance issues.

EDIT: It's no longer jailbreakable IFF you have not saved SHSH blobs via Firmware Umbrella or some other means.

    1) when you restored to 4.0.1 did you set the device up as new? Do that.

    2) Use tinyumbrella and check if you have any SHSH blobs available to restore with.

    3) If you don't have SHSH blobs, or none for 4.0+ (unless you want to go back to 3.1.x) then update to 4.1 and enjoy.

Hopefully the 4.1 jailbreak will be out soon, then I can really start using my new ipod touch.
