3G going from 3.1.2 to 4.0?

Tried a few different versions of the firmware now, have tried 8A293 and 8B117) but the latest version of redsnow wont recognise the firmware?? Any pointers?

You have Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5?

Edit: and the firmware is in .ipsw format?

Yes and yes, even tried it with b5-4 and it didnt work, downloading another ipsw now to try it

What are you running? Vista, Mac, 7?

Running XP at work, I run both 7 and Vista at home and have never had a problem there before

Thats odd. I would think 7 would be causing the problem.

Have you tried on one of your home computers then?

Try the firmware from the Downloads section here on MMi. I always use those and it works well.

Just did it, with the different ipsw that I got (via another thread on here, my problem now is that it is stuck on the downloading jailbreak data screen

You did restore to 4.0 on your phone right? Cuz that only happens when for instance you run Redsn0w to JB 4.0 but your phone is on 3.1.3.

If you arent on 4.0 already, youll need your SHSHs to restore to it to avoid going up to 4.1 and losing your unlock.

Yeah only on 3.1.3, is there a way to do this just by using redsnow or is the process more involved??
