iPhone 3G 4.1
Should i upgrade my 3g to 4.1 and jailbreak with redsn0w? i know that redsn0w hasnt been updated, unless it has been within the past two days..... and i dont know if any of the issues have been fixed like the phone app dissappearing or anything..... and theres a few more, but what are yalls input?

upgrade to 4.1 only if you dont need jailbreak and unlock or wait for the next jailbreak.

the only reason that i need it is because when i get the iphone 4 at a later date, i am going to unlock my 3g and let my girlfriend use it on T-Mobile

yesterday ive tried to JB 3G 4.1 with redsnow b-5 ....... DO NOT TRY IT!!!!!
everything seemed OK phone rebooted i got wallpaper but no % of battery.... well ok no stress here BUT!!! there were NO CALL icon on the lower dock! only 3 icons (safari, itunes, clock) and i got blank Cydia icon..... i went ot Cydia to activate but NO LUCK, it failed several times tho i had wi-fi signal ok....
and the last bad thing i cant Turn off my device now, it just Reboots and Reboots in 3-4 sec

tried to restore via itunes and i got Error code .....
people help what to do???

restore your phone and then if you have SHSH's, downgrade to 4.0.... that will be your best bet unless you want to try to go lower, ive never managed to be able to go donw that far....

Put it in dfu when trying to restore, you will still get an error at the end, just use tiny umbrella or recboot to boot it out of recovery. Also you are going to have to restore to 3.1.2/3.1.3 unless you have SHSH for 4.0/4.0.1/4.0.2.

ohh, wel i have never tried to use DFU mode to restore.... but yes i have all the 3G SHSH's that there have been.... im not taking any chances, i like iOS 4

i wrote already. i ve tried to restore and i got Error code no luck
thats not my iphone actually and it was unlocked 3.1.3.
need to google what is umbrella is....
