everything is black now. i think its dead and it wont respond to the charger.

sounds like the dock connector is messed up. I would take it back to the guy.

but ive had it for a few weeks and i jailbroke it.. its gonna look like my fault....

yeah. how old is it? apple will replace it if under warrantee no matter who bought it.

about a year he said hwo long is waranty good for?

and i wont get evil looks if they relize its been jail broken or whatever?

Try holding the home button and power then plug it into the wall at same time. If it powers on let go of the home and power button while it's plugged. It worked for me once.

dude that happened 2 me nothing worked so i just restored and now it works fine

Have you tried using a different USB cord? Also, if possible try the cord with a different iPhone or iPod.
