I just upgraded my iPhone 3G to IOS 4.1 using redsn0w_win_0.9.5b5-5

Now the cydia icon is white and if I run cydia I get this message:

Redsn0w needs to be updated before it is fully compatible with 4.1.

So what do I do now? Can I go back to 4.0 until it is updated?

If you have SHSH stored in cydia for 4.0/4.0.1/4.0.2 then you can use tiny umbrella or edit your hosts to point to cydia to restore to one of those firmwares. You do not need SHSH to restore to 3.1.3 or earlier. Or you can make a custom 4.0 with pwnage tool or sn0wbreeze and restore to that.

I tried tinyumbrella and it says that the SHSH (whatever that is) is not stored on their servers

What is the easiest way to restore back to 4.0.2 (which I beleve was that was on there before)?
    Thanks

Without SHSH you cannot go back to 4.0.2. Pwnage tool or sn0wbreeze will let you go to a custom 4.0 which is just as good as 4.0.2.

I have never used those tools. Can you advise on how to use to create a custom 4.0?

Download Snowbreeze 1.7 or Pwnage tools 4.0.1 to create an iOS 4.0 and restore to it.

I was able to restore to a clean 4.1 using iTunes

With my college schedule I can't do anything else for the moment. Will redsn0w be updated soon to allow jailbreak in iOs 4.1?

    Thanks

I guess you have to wait for the new jailbreak.
