Any Way To Unlock on 4.1?

Okay so,

-iPhone 3G on 3.1.2.
-REALLY want to be on iOS 4.1.
-Read everywhere for hacktivate.
-4.1 has new baseband.
-Would sn0wbreeze 1.8 work for 4.1?
-iTunes 9.2.1.
-If I use sn0wbreeze, will it update my baseband?
-So if it doesnt, does that mean i can be on 4.1 and use ultrasn0w?

Dev Team is working on all that, but we wont know until the firmware is released and then the jailbreak+unlock is too...

thanks. i just really want to get out of 3x and go on ios.... but i still want 4.1 for the improvement on the 3g..
