Jailbreak Help

Hey im new to this forum :=)

Soo i have a iPod Touch 3.1.2 with Jailbreak. I did it with blackra1n. I want to update to 4.0.1 because I like the folders :P

So how do i do that?

I dont rly now what kind of iPod i have. I bought it September 2009 in The USA. I got 8GB.

Some Questions:

1. What means Tethered?

2. Why on Cydia does it say "Blabla SHSH's on file 4.0.1"

3. How do I purchase apps on cydia?

4. How can I develop apps on a windows?

5. How do I develop Jailvreak Apps?

6. How can i make Winterboard Themes?

I can answer a few of your questions
1- menas you have to have ipod connected to turn on.
2-its backing up your phone for you so you have everything saved icase something happens
3- I jailbroke with spirit and cydia appeared on my phone im sure there are other ways but once its an app on your phone you can search for apps you may want in the search section or check out the categories section.
4- to purchase apps it has a few options like facebook verification and then paypal to pay for the apps you will find alot are for free.
the other questions are for somebody with alot more experience than me, hope this helps out a bit.

Ok, so either edit your hosts file
or
download tinyumbrella and the 4.0.1 firmware for your device.

Run tinyumbrella, and start tss server.
shift-click restore to your downloaded firmware.

If it gives you an error at the end of the restore (dont remember the number) kick it out of recovery mode with tinyumbrella.

Error 1015 or 16xx sometimes.. Then youll be able to kick it out of recovery
