Default Please help - Apps disappeared out of the blue

    Hi guys,

I am hoping somebody can help. I switched my iphone 4 on and all of my apps are gone - just out of the blue.

Plugged the phone into itunes and and the bottom of the screen is showing 7 GB "OTHER" Previously this was Apps. I am guessing somehow the directories have been corrupted and the phone cannot see the apps?

Can somebody please offer some advice on how I get this fixed.

I may have flicked off and on the apple killswitch in SB settings, i'm wondering it this is the cause of the problem?

    Many thanks

you might have to do a restore to get rid of this problem more than likely..... it has happened to a few people that i have read about but it does not seem like a widespread problem..... i know everyone hates to do restores but in your case it might be the best idea..... and i have done teh apple kill-switch and it hasnt done anything to my phone.....

OK, so I connect to iTunes, and I have loaded tiny umbrella. This is what tiny umbrella is showing:

    09/01/2010 20:48:04.922 You are using the current version of TinyUmbrella. 09/01/2010 20:48:07.177 Device Detected - Device: iPhone4 4.0 (8A293) Model: MC605B/A Name: SŐs iPhone 4 UUID: B9C91ED2D73D602C5ED3E4R28216C5601373F804 BbSNUM:aeoF5XEE+cFJPJmN Baseband: 01.59.00 - ICE_2_6

When I click Display SHSH, i get a positive result, saying this device can be restored

I Click Start TSS Server and then in iTunes I click shift and restore and select my 4.0 firmware, which I have downloaded

It queries the server and brings back the following error message:

The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (3002).

One interesting thing that I see is that in TinyUmbrella the Device/Version is showing iPhone 4 4.0.2 when I am on firware 4.0?

that error means you can restore to that version. make sure you have 4.0 on surik's server and not 4.0.1
Yeah, you'll be the coolest person in the room when you pull one out and show it around, but that gets old fast when three other people have them and one person somehow has one that glows in the dark.

If you see iPad above and you have an iPad3G THEY WILL WORK JUST FINE. There is just no way for me to tell the difference between iPad and iPad3G from the SHSH alone. 09/01/2010 20:51:38.718 TSS Server has cached the following files:

Can you please elaborate. I've loaded Cydia and it tells me:

This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS / iOS: 4.0.1. 4.0.2

should I restore to 4.0.1 instead of 4.0?

another interesting development, I installed POOF and I can see the full list of my apps in there, I cannot however restore them. Your help is greatly appriciated

OK chaps all sorted. Thank you very much for your help!

I downloaded the SHSH blobs for 4.0.1 and then restored to 4.0.1 and it's worked :-D

    Brilliant stuff
