3GS 3.1.2 Stuck at apple logo after I erased all settings. Please Help!
Hey guys! I have problem. Got a 3GS off ebay. Was 3.1.2 with jailbroken blackra1n. Then I erased and cleared all settings to clear old data (big mistake it seems that was) and now I'm stuck. I don't have the SHSH files. I've tried upgrading to 3.1.3/4.0/4.0.1 cause I need it unlocked but iTunes won't restore (error 3194). Changing host file doesn't work either.
What do I do next? Please, please help me quick I'm phoneless!

Have you tried using tiny umbrella http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ to see if you can download your SHSH files? Seems strange that it was jailbroken on 3.1.2 and has no SHSH (though not impossible).

I tried using tiny umbrella but it did not display any SHSH's. I'm using v4.02.05 of tiny umbrella. Do I need to click the 'start tss server' button first?

No but you have to press the Save my SHSH first, it will not display your SHSH automatically. You can click on advanced and pick which firmwares you want to download SHSH from cydia for (assuming they are there in the first place).

Download this version of tiny umbrella, 4.02.05 .
Run tiny umbrella , click advanced option
Under Device version, highlight the shsh you need to grab
Request from Cydia
Click Save Shsh
When done Display Shsh to see.
If it is there, then go to your hosts file
Highlight under the Device/Version of firmware shsh
ADD only this line : 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com to your hosts file ( the rest has to be commented out by this #)
Save it.
Run Tss Server
Put your Iphone Into Recovery mode, if not then DFU mode
Do the Shift + Restore to the corresnponding shsh blogs you have ( Stock firmware not custom firmware for this method )Last edited by iYeow; 08-31-2010 at 02:49 PM.
