    Default Restoring from Backup

Ok, here's my situation...I got a 4g for my daughter with 4.01 on it.
She now has a 3Gs with 3.1.2 not jailbroken.
Can I backup her phone, jailbreak the 4g and restore from backup so her contacts
will be on the 4g. Or is there another way of transferring her contacts from the old phone to the 4g.
    Thanks

Contacts can be synced to the PC then synced to the new iPhone.

Or if you Jailbreak each of them you could use SSH to copy them across.

When you first connect the iPhone 4 to your computer iTunes will ask if you want to restore from a backup or set up as a new phone. If you choose the backup option and select a backup from her 3GS everything will be transferred over.
