    Default DEB installation and terminal issue?

    so im trying to install a freeware .deb file. i am following tutorials all simular to these

    How To Install / Uninstall .deb File on iPhone | iPhone
    How to Install .deb files on iPod Touch/iPhone | iPod Touch Tricks

    Copying the deb file went fine and its in the temp folder. But when i try execute the command to install, it says no such directory "tmp" after typing dpkg-i/tmp/file.deb

    so why is this?

    any help appreciated please

    Easy, get the new iFile, then navigate to the .deb, press it and click installer and it installs for you automatically

    do you know why i cant find the directory in terminal. i will try this 4 now but wouldnt mind knowing y this is happenning. how do you go up and down regarding directories in terminal? "dir /" dir \" ??????

    Cd /var but it's case sensitive so look out for that too..

    tried installing the deb. says finished but errors were encoutered

    What was the error....? Maybe dependencies , what are u trying to install

    Some debs want other things installed, so look for what else it needs and install them first then install the deb u have
