iPhone 4 on 4.0.1 with problems wants to restore on a 64bit OS HELP!!!

Hey guys, i've got a iPhone 4 on 4.0.1 jailbroken and i have my shsh's but i want to restore m phone because it has some weird problem. I know this usually would be a simple process but the real problem is my 64bit OS. When you restore, you get error and have to use RecBoot to kick iphone out of restore but for that you need LibUSB that screws up a 64bit OS. Last time i tried, i had to format because my USB's were not working anymore...please tell me you have some suggestion on how to simply restore to 4.0.1 without screwing up my computer again...thx

use tinyumbrella to kick it out of recovery mode instead of RecBoot, I use both vista and 7 (both 64 bit) and it works fine
