Changing Countries: Unlock again?

hi folks,
i'm looking to change the iTunes store on my 3g.
it's jailbroken, unlocked and set to the UK store.

do i need to start again?
i.e. change country on iTunes and sync with iphone/ then re-jailbreak?

if so, is the current version of iTunes going to allow this?
i got stuck without a phone a few years ago due to poor research on my part.

any advice would be clutch!

To the best of my knowledge, the iTunes store defaults to whatever account it is signed into. If you are on a UK iTunes account, it's going to default to that store. Now if you aren't on any account, I'm not sure how the phone determines which store to access.
