3gs 3.1.3 restore to 4.0/4.0.1 3014 error

Hi everyone, I've got a new bootrom 32gb 3gs running a spirit jb'd 3.1.3 and I'm trying to restore to either 4.0 or 4.0.1 so that I can jb it with jailbreakme.com.

The issue I'm having is no matter what I do, I keep getting the itunes 3014 error. I've changed my host file, I have all the right shsh blobs and yet nothing will work. Is there any specific itunes version I should be using? I'm running 64bit vista at the moment.

Any help is appreciated.

except i run 32bit xp

even with the umbrella tss, no success

There is a known problem when using 64 bit. Try 32 bit. Also try from dfu mode, I did all this exact as u want and had error 3014 tried in dfu mode and all went perfect.

ok here's what i done

1.downloaded ie8 and set it to default, then changed options like this: Internet Options -> Advanced -> Security and remove the tick from the position of "Check for server certificate relocation" (dunno if that helped, but found it here: iTunes Error -9812 while accessing the iTunes Store - Windows Software)

2.updatet itunes to 10.0

3. local restore with umbrella tss and edited hosts file

BINGO!
