yes the apple logog will come on and it looks like its gonna reboot.. but then it goes black or it just freezes like that

when I saw the connect to itunes logo I connected it and itunes didnt notice it.. go figure

Leave it connected while doing all this.

What iPhone do you have?

1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and start iTunes.
2. Turn off your iPhone by holding down the Sleep button and slide to power off.
3. Press and hold down the Sleep button and Home button simultaneously.
4. After 10 seconds release the Sleep button but continue to hold the Home button down.
5. iTunes will pop up a window that says it has "detected an iPhone in recovery mode."

I can't see this posted anywhere, but is it possible to downgrade from IOS 6.1.2 to 6.1 if I have the Blobs saved in TinyUmbrella?

Depends on your device. Why would you need to though?

Hey Simon, I am sure my signal was better when I was on 6.1, I know 6.1.1 contained a fix for iPhone 4s users that were experiencing issues with signal strength.

This what I have tried to do, but each time it either fails with error 1600 or 11.

I have downloaded the iPhone4,1_6.1_10B142_Restore.ipsw

Started TinyUmbrella (v6.12.00) and pressed the "TSS Server" Button

When I launch Itunes and Press Shift and the restore button, I receive an error code 11.

The Iphone is then in Recovery mode (not DFU) and I still can't restore to 6.1

looking at the hosts file the following entries are entered:

#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

Since starting the TSS Server. Has anyone got any ideas how I can downgrade?


I have even tried to downgrade to 5.1.1 I have the Blobs for that too but I still can't do it.

You can't downgrade a 4S. Even if you have the shsh. Only a iPhone 4 or lower can downgrade right now with shsh.

ah man, so i have been saving my blobs all this time without being able to downgrade, oh well. at least I know now. is that because of the chip in the 4S?

For 4S SHSH were useful for re-restoring from a 5.X firmware to another 5.X firmware. Once you go to 6.X though that loophole can't be used anymore. It is still good to save them just in case another similar loophole is found that can allow something similar again. Right now though you can't do anything with those SHSH on 4S or higher devices.

I searched for some solutions, and had ended up deleting some files using iFunbox, (I didn't know what I was doing)

I've saved my SSH blobs on TinyUmbrella, and it says I've got the following SSh's saved:

iPhone5_World 6.1 (10B143)-3252280370060
iPhone5_World 6.1.2 (10B146)-3252280370060

I was stuck on a recovery loop and now I've put my phone in DFU mode and have tried shift + restoring to 6.1.2 using iTunes whilst running the TSS server and I get a 6102, I then edited the hosts file and I get a 6101, and now I just get a 3194 error when trying to restore without using TinyUmbrella.

Please help.

There is no way to restore a iPhone 5 to 6.1.2 right now, even with SHSH. If you can't get it to boot up you may have no choice but to restore to 6.1.3.

Try downloading it from our downloads section and then shift/option restore to it in itunes.

Please provide a link as I can't find the iPhone 5 6.1.3 firmware. Also what is the difference between GSM and CDMA?
