I was able to downgrade from fw 5.1 to fw 5.01 on my ipad1.

iPhone4s jb on 5.0.1. All SHSH blobs saved successfully (5.0+apticket, 5.0.1, 5.1, 5.1.1). My question is..
If Apple releases 5.1.2 or stops signing 5.1.1 before the untethered jb is released can I use my 5.1.1 blobs to restore? This is an A5 device and I know the method used to downgrade relies on an exploit in Apple's APTicket system. So if they change something in the next update will we lose the ability to restore to 5.1.1 or downgrade using blobs?

Well you can go back to 5.0.1 with redsnow as long as you have the SHSH. So I would assume unless Apple blocks the method redsnow is using to downgrade A5 devices you will be able to do the same with 5.1.1.

Please help- iTunes error 11 when upgrading iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 custom ipsw w/ preserved baseband. I have saved shsh and running tiny umbrella. I can't find any info out there on the particular iTunes error. thks!

Open tiny umbrella, Click advanced, deselect the box that says "set hosts to cydia on exit". Click apply, close tiny umbrella and try the restore again.

I'll try it. I didn't think of that because next to that option it says that will slow a clean restore from apple. Im trying to do a custom (preserve baseband) restore. My goal is to keep the unlockable baseband I have now. Thanks.

As long as you use a custom no baseband firmware made with redsnow or snowbreeze you will be fine.

Please help me, i cannot update my iphone 4 from 5.1 to 5.1.1
If i try using my phone it takes like 10 minutes trying to verify update then says update unavailable or something try later.
If i try using itunes it takes like 10mins verifying and then gives error 3014 ? anyone know what the problem is?i disabled that cydia exit thing on tiny umbrella

Don't know. That issue is generally from your hosts file being messed up. Unchecking set hosts to cydia in tiny umbrella "should" fix it. But you said you tried that already.

Ah well like 100 attempts later it updated to 5.1.1, so now i backed it up, and reset/erased all the stuff while it being plugged into itunes.
Anyway so as im setting the iphone 4 up im on the activation stage but it says 'could not activate iphone' ....because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iphone to iTunes to activate it

Anyone know what the problem is? ima keep retrying for now, also how can i activate it using i tunes? - ALSO THE PC HAS BEEN USED FOR JAILBREAKING BUT JUST NOT THIS DEVICE

Something must be up with your Internet connection or router. First you are getting 3014 errors and now activation issues. Something is blocking your computer from talking to apples servers.
