    Default SHSHs.

I am using iPod touch 2G on firmware 3.1.2. When I open cydia, it says "This device has SHSHs on file for iphone OS/iOS 4.0 ". Why cydia hasn't saved SHSHs on file for 3.1.2? I was using 3.1.2 when I saved it on saurik's servers. This means if I jailbreak my iPod in future, I will not be able to restore it to 3.1.2 ?

cydia can only save shsh's for firmwares that apple is signing, that is why you don't have them for 3.1.2 (apple stopped signing that back in early Feb.), if you have the non mc model number IPT 2 then you can jailbreak with redsn0w and from there you can use custom firmwares so you will be able to restore to 3.1.2 without the need for shsh's since custom firmwares bypass the signing process from apple

iPod touch 2g's are just like iPhone 3g's. They only require shsh's for 4.0 and up. You can still restore to 3.x without any problems.
