Well guys I am getting an old iPhone 2G tom , its jailbroken . However it has " No Service " problem .. I think its not Hardware defect as it actually shows all present celluar networks in range ,meaning the radio is working fine .
Wi-Fi works fine as well .
I haven't been following the iPhone community for the past year .. can anyone aware me if this is a common issue and if its software related or HW .
The no service may just be because it doesn't have an active sim in it. Not sure. Those pixels don't look dead, they look stuck. Dead pixels would be black not lit up. There's a pixel fixer app either in the app store or cydia. I can't remember the name off the top of my head.
You can download "Bad Pixel" from Cydia. It's nothing program difficult, just a moveable square that flashes different colors of the spectrum. If you get it, once you see the flashing square, slide your finger with the square underneath it to your problematic areas and in theory it's supposed to activate pixels in order to fulfill the request of the square's flashing colors. It worked for my iPhone 4's dreaded yellow spots scattered throughout the screen. Good luck!
