So I just got a Iphone 3GS 16gig with 4.1 software on it, jailbroke it and unlocked it then when to Setting>general>reset>erase all content and settings. After I did this the phone went to reboot and its frozen at the start up screen. I plugged it into itunes and it does not see it. Any suggestions as to how to kick it out of frozen mode so i can restore it or keep using it as normal. Also i did load up Cydia and hit the make my life easier button but am sure the TSS is still pending to save the blobs. Hopefully i dont need to restore and update to 4.2 so I can still jailbrake. Thank you for your help.

Hitting the erase all content button is a BAD thing. You will have to restore from DFU mode to get it working again. Download 4.0.1 the shift+click restore to it.
Here's a link that will tell you how to put your phone into dfu mode: iClarified - iPhone - How to Put an iPhone Into DFU Mode
Once it's in dfu iTunes will recognize it and tell you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At that point it will let you do a restore.
I got it to connect to itunes under the restore function. Is there anyway to restore back to 4.0.1 and not update to 4.0.2 so i can keep it jailbroken?
Yes, download the 4.0.1 ipsw and do the shift + restore to the download ipsw. Hopefully , Apple is still signing 4.0.1 and you don't have to edit your hosts file.
If you get a message, ineligible for the required built, then you must have shsh blogs and you have to edit the hosts file to point to Cydia to be able to restore back to 4.0.1
