I tried reseting my Jailbroken 3.1.2 iphone2g to delete all my personal information, and the phone wont start back up. I get an apple logo, and then a spinning guy in the middle for a few minutes, and then it restarts and goes back to the apple logo.
Is there anyway to fix this? When I connect it to my PC, I dont get any sign of the phone being connected.
First, NEVER EVER hit erase all content and settings on a jailbroken phone. Ok now that that's out of the way, the only way to fix it is to restore. Put the phone into DFU mode. iTunes will recognize it now and tell you that it needs to be restored. Just hit the restore button. Being a first gen iPhone it will install 3.1.3. After that you can re-jailbreak with either spirit or jailbreakme.com.
With the phone connected to your computer hold the home and power buttons until the phone shuts off. Continue holding them for ten seconds, then release the home button. Keep holding the power button until iTunes tells you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At that point iTunes should let you do the restore. In dfu mode the phone will look like it's off, but if you look closely you'll see the screen is on, just black.
