installing ipa files?

i want to install the yourtube app but cant find it anywhere. So i am going to install the ipa. i was woundering if this is dangerous and if a restore will fix anything that goes wrong if i add a ipa to the device? im guessing so as it reinstalls the os but i need to be sure.

any one know?
