4.02 questions
I was just about the jailbreak my phone which is currently on 4.01 and then 4.02 came out and from what i understand you can not jailbreak your phone if you upgrade. I read your article about saving the shsh blobs and I was slightly confused. I was wondering if someone could explain if there are any extra steps i should take before going to jailbreaking my phone. thank you very much.

Download Tinyumbrella click save my shsh blobs, then backup your phone in iTunes, go to jailbreakme.com and jailbreak it, but don't upgrade your firmware

They let you downgrade to that firmware when apple won't let you

so if something goes wrong with my jailbreak it will let me restore to 4.0.1 instead of 4.0.2?

one last question, what happens if your phone is jailbroken and you update to 4.0.2?

Well since the unlock is part of the jailbreak, then yes you would, unless your phone is officially unlocked by Apple
