    Default Upgrading/jailbreaking to 4.0 from 3.1.2 on ipod touch 3g

    So if i do this will i lose all my apps and music?
    What is the point of upgrading to 4.0 and would i get all the new things that are available on the iphone 4?

    If you upgrade, you will lose everything that is not synced into your iTunes. If you are on a 3g itouch, I would recommend just staying on 3.1.2, because there are jailbreak equivilent apps that give you the same functionality as iOS4, without slowing your device. I would just stay where you are, until Apple makes a more iTouch compatible firmware.
