ok i need help jailbreaking a 3g

ok my uncle has a 3g iphone i dont know the exact firmware of it. how can he go by jailbreaking it and unlocking it i havent jailbroke a iphone in a min since i switch over to at&t so what programs do he use to unlock it and jailbreak it with the latest frimware

well if its on 3.1.2 or above go to jailbreakme.com on the phone, slide to jb then unlock with ultrasn0w

and i cant cause his screen is at the plug into itunes screen

well I can't tell you how to jb and unlock when you don't even know what firmware hes running, the method I posted was just a guess at what fw hes running..

i think he has to do it the old way but i dont know which programs to use

Redsn0w is always a good program to use, unless he's on a Mac, then I dunno
