Jailbreak/unlock 2G help

I have a friend who wants to unlock her old 2g iPhone and sell it. It is currently running fw 3.1.2 and bb 05.11.07. What is the easiest way for her to jailbreak/unlock it? Should she update to 3.1.3 then do the jailbreak/unlock?

Staying there is fine. Use Redsn0w 0.9.3.

Need bootloader 3.9 and 4.6 binary files to use Redsn0w and also a stock copy of 3.1.2 ipsw.

Is she able to activate the phone? You could just use JailbreakMe and install BootNeuter If not Redsn0w is best.

You dont need to activate. Thats what Redsn0w does, it hacktivates the phone to bypass activation. Redsn0w 0.9.3 is very good for 2G phones. Jailbreakme is good for phones on 4.0/1.
