Want to jailbreak OS 4, but can't (no access to the browser!)
I had a problem with my iPhone earlier, so I had to restore it to Apple's OS 4.0.
Problem is, my phone is in a network unsupported by this iPhone. When I turn it on, it asks me to plug it into iTunes with the sim card in. When I do that, it says something like "This phone is on an unsupported carrier, please insert a SIM card with a supported carrier." and I can't do anything about it.
Is there ANYTHING I can do? I want this phone jailbreaked with the simlock taken off.

You'll need a sim from an official carrier to get past the emergency call screen.

Hi,
This universal sim card seems to work for some people. You can read the forum there. And it is cheap. Take a shot if you don't have any one who can lend you a AT&T sim.
DealExtreme: $5.80 Universal Activation Sim Card for iPhone 2G/3G/3GS/4

I love deal extreme, but it takes quite a long time for them to deliver products as it comes from HK.
R4 and Acekard 2 took 4 weeks and 3 weeks respectively.
My PS controller laptop adapter took 2 weeks.
If you can wait a bit, get your SIM (always free shipping which is awesome) from Deal Extreme. If youd rather not wait, any SIM from the official carrier of the phone will do (eBay).

Ask a friend with AT&T to lend you his sim for a second
