Who's keeping their JB 4.0.1 3GS?

Just curious who is keeping their FW on 4.0.1 and JB. ive seen a couple posts with people staying away from it. Is it really that bad? Should i go back to 3.1.3 JB?

With the new bootrom on 3gs is jailbreakme.com the only way?

i think so. i did it on my white 3gs 32 gb and nothing seems to be wrong

Whats wrong with it that most app or mod is not upgrade to work with the 4.0.1 yet. i upgrade to 4.0.1 and when back to 3.1.3

I actually don't know if i'm gonna stay on 4.0. The BATTERY DRAIN is absolutely killing me. I have to tote around my Blackberry cause I know my 3Gs gonna die quick. I've ended all running apps in sbsettings along with multitasking. Also turned off push, ssh, and wifi to help consume some battery but just ain't working. 4.0 to me is GARBAGE!!! I wish i would've stayed on 3.1.3. Don't know if its the Jailbreak or Unlock that did it, and I see numerous people here complaining of the battery drain issue!!

Battery life is good for me and I do alot on mine, but yeah I'm gonna stay cause this was a replacement from apple so I don't have blobs for anything under 4.0

I had really bad signal problems on 4.0.1 i even made an appointment with apple but i decided to put 4.0 on and it seems fine now

If your not. Well you are not goin to be able to go back

I do currently have an SHSH on file for 3.1.3 on the server according to cydia and my local comp with umbrella. But im unsure how to get past the 3194 error

Did you edit the host file to be poin to cydia server right and download the fw 3.1.3 ?

Now that 4.0.2 is out, if I have a 3GS with 3.1.2 on it and I want to jailbreakme, how do I restore to 4.0.1 (I want to wipe the phone and start fresh). I downloaded the 4.0.1 firmware but iTunes eventually gets an unknown error 3194 when I do a shift-restore.

Apple stopped signing 4.0.1 two hours ago. So unless you have shsh's for 4.0.1 your too late.

No, shsh's are device specific.

I have a JB/UL 3GS I use on T-Mobile. Battery life has been quite good for me, but I am pro-active.

One of the Cydia apps I really like is SBSettings. When I am putting the iPhone in my holster, I launch SBSettings and turn EVERYTHING off...WIFI, Bluetooth, Data, 3G,Tethering,..everything. It is simply a telephone (imagine that ?) on my hip.
