Losing jailbreak apps after upgrade

I'm just curious if I purchase a paid app on cydia or rock right now, and then say tomorrow iOS 4.1 is released and jailbroken on the same day, will I have to repurchase that paid app if I upgrade, or will cydia or rock remember that I purchased it and not charge me a second time if I download it again?

I want to download some full versions of some of the awesome apps, but i've been hesitant for this reason. Does anyone know how it works?

They know the device you bought with and you can redownload no charge , and if you have problems just contact the developers and they will help you out.
