Question JB iphone4 - facetime worked, but then stopped - cant activate

so i was one of the early ones that jb my iphone 4 before they patched it to fix the facetime glitch. i dont feel like resettig my entire phone and having to redo everything.

i got the iphonedelivery from cydia and installed it, reset network settings and turned facetime back on and it worked. last night i was trying to facetime w/ my gf's new iphone4 and it wasnt working. i turned facetime off/on and now it says its unable to activate. ive tried reinstalling iphonedelivery and resetting network settings and it wont work anymore

any ideas besides having to reset and start all over again

im having the exact same issue, it happened to me after I installed a theme. FT was working, now it wont and when I try to activate it says its unable to.

I was also one of the first to JB and had to install the iphonedelivery. I wish I could get this problem fixed.

did you install the afterhours theme by any chance? that is when mine stopped working

only thing i havent tried is this..

    3) go to Jailbreakme.com (on your iDevice) and Jailbreak.
    4) Restart your iDevice (you will have lost MMS and Facetime)
    5) Connect to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left (in iTunes) AGAIN and select "Restore from Backup"
    6) Facetime and MMS are fixed and Jailbreak is intact. You're DONE. ^_^
    Good Luck!

i'll try it when i get home from work

    UPDATE**

so this fixed it for me.

    installed openssh. followed these steps

Intall OpenSSH via Cydia and SSH into your device and run the following commands.

    chmod 755 /var/mobile
    chmod 755 /var/mobile/Library
chmod 755 /var/mobile/Library/Preferences <~~ said this did not exist.
    reboot

then i uninstalled iphonedelivery from cydia
    restarted springboard
    reset network settings
connected back to wifi, and then went to phone and facetime was already on and connected... happy as a clam now
