Help!!!! stuck with Geohot image - Blackrain

I'm using iphone 3GS 3.1.2 and using blackra1n jailbreak software and last day i reset the network settings, after that when i click the 'Make it rain' button i'm getting the Geohot image and then after some times it will go to the itune picture and then again geohot picture....
i tried many times about 20 times but still he same problem is there.

please tell me the solution to fix it even i downloaded 3.1.2 firmware and tried to restore it using iTunes but i got an error saying "Theiphone couldn't be restored. the device isn't eligible for the requested build"

so please tell me how to fix this problem...i dont bother about the old data also....
just i need a phone which can work on any carrier.

please help me in this.....

try to restore it using dfu mode.

why dont you try updating to 4.0 or 4.0.1?

yes you can...4.0 and 4.0.1 can be jailbroken and unlocked

ok thanks but i have few questions....
first for upgrading it to 4.0 or 4.01 whether i have to ipdate it through iTunes or not?
then only i have to unlock it using the link which you have provided...
one more thing is the unlock is available for only certain basebands but i dont know now what is the baseband of my iphone
so how can i check it because i cant access my phone now it is stuck with the blackrain Geohot image.

Also tell me whether 4.0 or 4.01 has any disadvantages and at any case if i want to downgrade then whether i can do that or not?

do you have your SHSH's???? if so you can..... and i would give it a try since i dont know the baseband stuff..... but im sure that someone else does..... just update and then try the unlock..... last time i had heard it worked on all of them...... but im sure that i am wrong..... but you are going to have to update or something so that you can know the baseband..... or maybe even try using the f0recast..... i think that will show you..... ill check and then post a reply.....

and yes it does show the baseband.... so do that and post.....

and the basebands for the 3g and 3gs are as follows: 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, and 5.13.04

SHSH's from where can i get? i think i did something with Cydia ...backup or something but i dont remember what i did....
where i can check it....?

did you ever press something in cydia that said "make my life easier"?

well all you have to do is go to your hosts file on your computer and change it to sauriks server..... what are you running on??? windows or mac?

here is a good guide on how to do all of this stuff.....

did you look at the guide? and also did you do the f0recast thing to figure out your baseband?
