JB'ing via jailbreakme help?

Hey. I want to jb an iphone3g and 3gs via jailbreakme.com but am unsure how. All i have to do is update firmware to 4.0.1 via itunes and then enter jailbreakme website via safari from iphone and it will be jbroken? Thanks

Yep, that's what I did with my 3Gs on 3.1.2. If you have categories installed, save yourself some hassle and uninstall that before you go ahead with the process.

and just to make sure before jailbreaking close all apps running in multitasking, reboot your phone and do the jailbreak.

Thanks. But i cant have categories installed since i have the original firmware installed sea2k, though thanks for the headsup. Any of u know if the phone book sim card activates every firmware? Will it activate 4.0.1??

You should also sync and backup the phones before jailbreaking
