You can just downgrade, shift + restore to the 3.1.X bundle in iTunes.

I'm either going to try tinyumbreall or recboot tonight.
I tried the shift restore but it didn't work for me.

I've done this many times. But it says ths not compatible with iTunes.

hey everyone! I'm totally confused now.....I just know: my 4.0.1 3g is performing BADLY now and isn't even doing simple things like opening an email without getting hung up. I guess I can just restore it to factory settings again BUT that's awful. Ugly.

Right now I believe your phone should be in recovery mode the reason I say that is cuz I got the same error get I tried to downgrade so do this:
Download tinyumbreall
then the program will find your phone and click start TSS
then the button to kick your phone out of recovery will open-click on it
once that is done, go to itunes and hit shift + restore and find the ipsw that you like - 3.1.3
and your done

Nah, that'd be 4.0 on a 3G. It sucks, hard. Try disabling spotlight, it might help a bit. (settings under home button) Originally Posted by Chris steward

now that I'm on fw 3.1.3
how can I restore all my information that I had saved 2 weeks ago?
just to be more clear, my phone right now is clean (no contacts photos etc) and I had saved my stuff almost 2 weeks ago
can I get all my information back
