itouch 2g(MC) 4.0 wnating to downgrade to 3.1.2 so i can jailbreak it

i have been on all night trying to find a way to jailbreak this and the simplest way is to downgrade it but i cant find anything that will let me. please help

On an iPod 2g just download a 3.1.2 fw for your iPod. Then shift+click restore to that fw.

it still has the same error ive had all night(3194). i think i didnt download it to or from the right place. i have it in duf or whatever its called. somekind of recovery mode that locks the ipod up until i restore it. to lazy to go look for the term of it

You shouldn't have to put the iPod into either dfu or recovery mode. Just have it in normal operating mode then try the restore

i still have the same problem it says. were would be a place to download this downgrade so cause im thinking i just have a bad download. thank you for the help so far
