Your blobs are saved for the current FW that is being signed, not the FW you are currently running. So when it was saved it must have been at the time apple was signing iOS4.0.

Not really, it simply means that if you even upgrade to 4.0 or brick the device on 3.1.3 you cant get back to it.

But, does this mean I can now downgrade to 3.1.2, even though I have never saved 3.1.2 Blobs on Cydia?
Got the phone on 3.1.3 and JB it then with saving 3.1.3 blobs, but, with cydia showing 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0 does this mean am free to go down to 3.1.2?
Alot of people are confused by the latest sighting of cydia showing 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0.
please explain further.

I believe it is a glitch that cydia is showing you have 3.1.2. Use tinyumbrella and it will show you what shsh blobs you have saved.
Have they released the jailbreak in the app store yet?

I'm in a similar position. I have 3.1.3 but got signed a 4.0 blob. I am wondering if there is any way I would be able to downgrade to 3.1.3 if I upgrade. I want to try the new firmware but if I don't like it I want to be able to downgrade. Any chance of this and would on a 3GS is it worth upgrading to 4.0 or not with a JB

i'm also using 3.1.3 with 4.0 and 4.0.1 blobs. My iphone is running slower. when switching to dtunes it takes a while to show my files. Then when switching back to home screen it takes awhile. Is this normal. I want my fast 3.1.3 back

iOS 4 should run well on a 3GS, ulike a 3G. If you haven't upgraded already you might as well wait for 4.1. If you don't have SHSH blobs for 3.1.3 , 3.1.2 etc you cant downgrade.
It is very normal for a 3G to be slow on iOS 4. The new 4.1 update (said to be coming uot tomorrow) should be at least usable on the 3G, unlike previous versions.
