My wifi signal strength died immediately after a bunch of recent Cydia app updates. I'm almost certain that it's a JB problem because my wife's identical non-JB phone doesn't have this problem, wifi strength is a known software issue, JB or not, and because the wifi strength died right after an update last week.
If I could remember the updates, I'd simply delete them to narrow the problem down, but of course I can't. The apt-get log file /var/log/apt/term.log remember's Saurik's nice recent apt updates, but only the dates of my other updates.
How do I figure out which update killed my wifi reception?
To be clear, wifi and joining wifi all work, you just have to be standing right next to the router to have sufficient strength to even see them show up under either Settings>Wi-Fi or WiFiFoFum. And yes, Settings>General>Reset>Network didn't restore the strength.
Sorry for the misdiagnosis -- I restored my phone to new, but the weak wifi signal problem persists, strongly suggesting a hardware problem, as others have experienced.
