Default Wifi Problems Persist After a Clean Restoring - Please Help!

    Hi guys

Before I begin, this is my first post, so please be gentle!

I have an iPhone 3G 8GB (v3.1.2) which was originally SIM locked. In the past I used the iPhone Dev Team's tools to jailbreak and unlock, then I got a little impatient and used Blackra1n so I could run 3.1.2 with the 05.11.07 firmware.

Everything was fine until one day I had to restart my iPhone, then I found the wifi would not connect. I have tried resetting my network settings countless times, but it never worked. Sometimes the networks appear to connect, but there would be no data transfer. Mostly, however, the available networks can never be found.

I've tried changing my router settings (security, SSID broadcasting, 802.11b/g frequencies etc.), nothing worked. I tried other hotspots, but they all suffered from the same problem.

In the end, I downloaded a clean copy of 3.1.2 and restored my phone via iTunes. However, to my horror, the wifi problem persists after a clean restore. I have restored a couple of times, and the wifi still doesn't work. I have tried Blackra1n again, which jailbreaks successfully, but doesn't help with the wifi.

I don't use 3G, so wifi is a real deal breaker for me. Any suggestions? I need my unlock, so I can't update to 3.1.3, but I'm wondering even if I did perform a clean upgrade, would it fix the wifi problem?

Please help, I don't know what else to try.

    Thanks in advance.
