Help stop iPod app auto-launching! It's driving me nuts!
Where is the file that enables the iPod app in the iPhone to Auto-launch when you connect to a car stereo with Bluetooth? I try to launch pocket tunes bur iPod beats me to it every time. This is driving me nuts. I searched .plist files and for daemons that might launch it but no luck.
I've come across this question in several forums (once by me here before too).I think the same applies for docks with line-out. It must be a simple script somewhere, no?
Is it just me that finds this super frustrating?
I find it very frustrating too. I haven't really looked into it yet tho. I guess I got conditioned to press the pause button every time I set it in the dock lol
Good! So it's not just me being hyper sensitive! Hopefully someone can find where the auto-iPod trigger gets set (I really hope it isn't hard coded into anything essential!)
If it is tied in with other stuff, then a workable solution would be something like an icon that launches a batch file that identifies the process ID of the iPod app, kills it, then launches another app (in this case maybe a sequence of apps, backgrounding a couple of them and setting the screen brightness while it's at it!), kind of like a configurable profile launcher icon / app.
This drives me NUTS too. We all know that anything running on the iphone DRAINS the battery, yet the stupid ipod starts running all of the time on it's own. If we want to hear music, we can turn it on with one click, but APPLE seems to think they can shove anything they want down our throat. Come on APPLE, give us a break!!!
One more thing for anyone that uses the Cydia app SBS settings, when you swipe your finger across the top and select the skull it shows everything that is running and you can select anything from there to turn it off. This is how I turn my ipod off completely, but still Who needs it running in the background when you are not listening to music?
