Replacement 3GS or hold onto older (slightly faulty) one? No tether please!
Hey, hoping someone can help. I've discovered my headphone jack isn't working properly (mic/remote functions not working) and is under warranty, so imagine I'll get a replacement. But my current phone was purchased September last year, so doesn't require a tethered jailbreak.
Is it worth holding on to this phone? Or will there be a non tethered jailbreak for all 3GS model phones in the future? the phone is/will be factory unlocked so only the jailbreak is needed. Would really prefer not to have to have it tethered to reboot, mainly because it's pretty restrictive when you're away from home etc and either run flat or require a reboot.
Its unlikely that a jailbreak will be out in the near future. The absolute earliest I see an untethered jailbreak coming out is when the iPad is released. If the iPad and the iPhone share an exploit then there would not be an issue releasing it for the iPhone
