blackra1n rebooting

I just wanted to find out if there are any issues rebooting my tethered JB with blackra1n. I need to install a program which will require a reboot and I want to make sure it will work ok. Thanks

I think its fine but its a tethered jailbreak so you will need to click the make it ra1n button when it restarts for it to work.

alright, i have a similar question... i'm going to jailbreak and unlock my phone soon. and i'm going to use redsn0w 0.9.2 to jailbreak (iphone 3G 33.1.2 bb-5.11.07), then download blackra!n then sn0w. Since I used redsn0w to jailbreak, would i still have the tethered jailbreak?

and what exactly is tethered jailbreak? when i restart it, do I have to hook it up to the computer, then press something on the computer, or just open the blackra!n app and make it rain from there?

A tethered jailbreak basically sucks, because if you ever turn off your device you have to plug it in to your computer and turn on blackra1n and make it rain. EVERY time you restart your device doesn't matter if you turned it off yourself or it just ran out of battery.

When did you get your iphone, because if you got it before july you can know for sure that its not an MC model, and so you don't need a tethered jailbreak just using redsn0w will work fine.

I haven't gotten it yetbut I should be getting it from a friend tomorrow. It's a 3G. I thought only the 3GS had to worry about the MC thing and when it was purchased? So I could use redsn0w to jailbreak/unlock it.

I'm also thinking about downgrading the baseband to 4.26 so I can use ultrasn0w since a lot of ppl are having the no wifi issues using blackra!n

Also, if my phone resprings, would i have to 'make it rain' even then?

You won't have a tethered jailbreak since that is only for 3GS.

When you've jailbroken with redsn0w, you don't need to download blackra1n. In fact, you shouldn't. Just add the blackra1n.com repo in Cydia. From there you can get blacksn0w which is what you want to unlock your phone.

The baseband is not downgradable so make sure you stay on firmware 3.1.2 and not 3.1.3

As I already said up top, your phone won't have a tethered jailbreak so you can respring, reboot and turn off/on your phone to your heart's desire.

It'll install Cydia and nothing else. You can add RockApp from within Cydia.
