reinstalling cydia

A few months ago, I had problems with cydia crashing every time I launched it. I SSH'd and was able to delete cydia from my phone. I had been running cydia with OS 3.0 with no problems for a month prior to this. I already have every useful app installed from cydia, but I would still like to get new stuff from time to time.

I used this youtube video to attempt a reinstall

but got into an error numerous times after trying to install the deb file.

If anyone knows an easy way to do this short of a restore and rejailbreak it would be greatly appreciated.

This video is how i jacked up my iphone followed instructions to a tee. got to Control T typed in dpkg -/cydia.deb and here is the error message I got..
Command 'dpkg -i/cydia.deb failed with return code 2 and error message dpkg: unknown option -
Dont know how to get cydia back???

I think you need APT 0.7 HTTPS installed.

Check out other posts on fixing this. Install latest version of cydia over existing with ifile. If you dont have ifile or mobileterminal and cant install them then try ssh and drop new cydia into /cydia/autoinstall

How do I get and install the newest version of cydia. I really think since I went into applications and deleted cydia from my phone while in SSH or using winSPC. I don't think the file exists anymore. I am running version 3.1.3 7E18 . Since I dont have cydia icon I don't seem to be able to get anywhere. I do have terminal (not mobile terminal) unless its the same program. and I have ifile. I was under the impression that when i used comex to jailbreak my phone since the first statement was SSH your phone so you will always be able to restore it? I just don't know how. NOOB!! Any Help would be appreciated. Also dont understand how to drop New cydia into /cydia/autoinstall nor do i understand I think you need APT 0.7 HTTPS installed. how do i install onto my phone?? So does i file work?

Just download the newest cydia
http://onlinegamesnz.orconhosting.ne...honeos-arm.deb
Drop the deb into var/tmp via SSH

Open ifile navigate to var/tmp and tap the cydia deb file.

Choose install

Should say finished with result code 0

Dude I love you!!!!!!!!!!!! it wasn't quite that easy but jacked around with it enough to finally make it work. On my phone i had to hit unzip not install then had to open each of the new buttons that appeared and do the same. No matter it worked. Your awesome. Cant thank you enough!!!!

apt-get remove Cydia

'yes, do as I say!'

reboot...

apt-get install Cydia

if the above doesn't work, apt-get remove Cydia and then reinstall with greenp0sion, redsn0w etc etc
