I going to piggyback on your question. I'm looking for a copy of the US only last.fm app. I hear it's just a matter of finding the app and I can use it here in Canada.
Anyone care to share a copy of their last.fm app? PM me.My current phone's toast and I want an iPhone!

Normally I'd yell at you both for discussing piracy here, but considering you're dealing with region-specific and free apps, it's ok.
I'd make an iTunes account in the correct region of the world you're trying to get an app from (e.g., the UK, France, or Sweden for Spotify; and the UK, US, or Germany for last.fm) and download the necessary app from that market (you'll be able to authorize your computer for that iTunes account, and your iDevice will be able to use it).
Only issue is you need both services' premium subscriptions to use their mobile apps at all, and those are very hard to obtain outside of their respective countries.
