I followed instructions to change my SSH password after the new worms and stuff. But now I cant get into my Iphone after i changed the password. I know its the right password that i entered as i wrote it down. I followed all the steps exactly (except when i did the root password it doesn't ask me for my old one it goes straight for "new password" is that normal?).
Is there a way to just reset the root pass and username?
I installed OPENSSH on my iphone.... I cant find BSD anywhere on cydia

I changed mine recently, but just today, couldn't log in, no matter what password I tried. I didn't write it down, but I was sure I used one of my normal passwords for other things. So, I came looking for answers. What I eventually did was reset it back to alpine, and then changed it again. Here's how:
Using iFile on the phone I reset the hash in the master.passwd file in "/etc" directory to "smx7MYTQIi2M" which is the hash for "alpine" and then reboot. I then was able to SSH to the phone using root/alpine so I went into mobile terminal and changed the pw again to something I know this time. Still no clue what I must have set it to before, but I'm running JtR on the old hash to see what the hell I did. Note, there are two locations for hashes in the master.passwd file. One for Root and one for Mobile. I changed them both back. I didn't mess with permissions, or iCommander like the instructions HERE
